Built for timestamps, not just titles
Rewatching a whole season to find one scene is painful. A scene finder does the scrubbing for you: every match comes with the episode and a from–to time range, shown as an HH:MM:SS timestamp.
A short preview clip plays automatically so you can confirm it is the right moment before you open your streaming app.
Great for
- Finding the episode a meme or reaction image came from
- Locating a fight, OP/ED cut, or emotional scene to rewatch
- Citing an exact scene in a review, AMV, or video essay
- Settling “which episode was that?” arguments with friends
How accurate is the timestamp?
When the similarity score is high (around 90% or more), the timestamp is usually within a second or two of the frame you uploaded. Different releases (TV vs. Blu-ray, different streaming cuts) can shift the time slightly, so use the preview clip as your guide.
Low score? See our checklist for failed searches.
Frequently asked questions
Can I find which episode a scene is from?
Yes. AniTrace returns the episode number alongside the title and timestamp for every match.
Why is the timestamp a few seconds off on my streaming service?
Different releases can have different intros, recaps, or edits, which shifts the timeline slightly. The preview clip shows the matched moment so you can adjust.
Does it work for anime movies?
Yes — movies and OVAs in the index are matched the same way, with a timestamp into the film.
